Efficient, powerful and portable, ALTEN Battery Chargers will charge large batteries and large battery banks safely and quickly in the most remote locations on earth.

Charging large battery banks with too small of an ALTEN Battery Charger may cause the charger engine to overload and stall, normally no harm is done to the charger. If your charger is a undersized, selecting the low voltage setting on the charger will help during the initial stages of charging. The following information will assist you to select the correct ALTEN Battery Charger for your application.

Generally, the most common types of batteries in a large variety of applications are “starting” and “deep cycle” batteries. In some applications a hybrid of “starting” and “deep cycle” batteries are present and can be charged with the same ALTEN Battery Charger.

ALTEN Battery Charges can quickly charge "starting" batteries with a CCA (cold cranking amps) rating 6-8 times larger than charger amp rating. For example: an ALTEN Battery Charger with a 12 volt 120 amp output can quickly charge a 960 CCA 12 volt battery.

ALTEN Battery Chargers can charge "deep cycle" batteries with a total A/H (Amp Hour) rating 10-12 times larger that the ALTEN Battery Charger amp rating. For example: an ALTEN Battery Charger with a 12 volt 120 amp output can charge a deep cycle battery bank with 14x100A/H battery banks. ALTEN Battery Chargers can charge large banks of deep cycle batteries used in the solar, telecom and electric vehicle industry.

Multiple ALTEN Battery Chargers connected in parallel have been used to charge very large industrial batteries. Defective batteries cannot be charged with our equipment. Follow ALTEN Battery Charger - Operating Instructions.

The ALTEN Battery Chargers provides a regulated 2.33 V/C Float charge or 2.46 V/C Bulk charge for 12, 24 and 48 volt batteries. Follow your battery manufacturer’s recommendations for regular battery charging and maintenance.
